03 Day Rwanda-Uganda Gorilla Trekking

Your adventure begins with a pick-up in Kigali, Rwanda’s vibrant capital. After a short briefing, embark on a scenic drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills, heading toward the Cyanika or Katuna border to cross into Uganda. Enjoy breathtaking views of Uganda’s lush countryside as you continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Arrive at your lodge in the Rushaga sector, depending on your gorilla permit. Enjoy a relaxing evening, soaking in the natural beauty of Bwindi’s mist-covered forests.

Optional Activity: Visit a local Batwa (Pygmy) community for a cultural experience

Rise early for a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience. After a briefing at the park headquarters, set off on a guided trek through Bwindi’s dense rainforest, following expert trackers to locate a gorilla family. Spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat—watching them play, feed, and interact. After the trek, return to your lodge for a well-deserved rest. You may choose to spend the afternoon relaxing or engaging in optional activities like a community walk, visiting local schools and craft markets. Overnight at same lodges.

Trekking Time: 2-6 hours (depending on gorilla movements)
Optional Activity: Forest walk or guided birdwatching

After breakfast, bid farewell to Uganda’s beautiful landscapes as you drive back to Kigali. Depending on your departure time, you may opt for a short city tour, visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local markets, or craft centers before your flight home.
