Safari Overview
Your journey begins in Arusha and quickly leads you into the striking landscapes of Tarangire National Park, where ancient baobabs rise over elephant herds and predators patrol the golden savannahs. You’ll then travel to Ndutu in the Southern Serengeti, the epicenter of the wildebeest calving season. Here, between January and March, over 500,000 calves are born in just a few weeks, attracting predators like lions, hyenas, cheetahs, and leopards, making for some of the most dramatic wildlife viewing on the continent.
The safari continues to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” This natural amphitheater hosts Africa’s densest population of large mammals, from black rhinos to prides of lions and flocks of flamingos. Finally, wind down at Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions, elephants, and rich birdlife along the alkaline lake’s edge.
Throughout the safari, you’ll be guided by seasoned professionals in custom designed 4×4 vehicles, staying in premium lodges and tented camps that combine comfort with immersive wilderness experiences. This is a journey that captures the raw beauty, vulnerability, and breathtaking rhythm of life on the African plains during calving season.
